大阪大学の生物工学の研究施設。老朽化した施設棟の改修及び、新営棟の計画。研究分野の特性上、多くの留学生が研究しており、国際交流ｾﾝﾀｰとしても位置づけられている。1階に交流スペース、上階の研究室には、リフレッシュバルコニーを計画しており、日々の研究活動の中で、ちょっとした交流やリフレッシュの場を盛り込んだ。外観は既存との調和を計りながら、西日を遮る奥行きの深いポツ窓をベースとし、自然エネルギーの活用にも配慮した。
　
　The biotechnology research facility of Osaka University. Refurbishment of old building and project of new buildings. Due to the characteristics of the study field, many foreign students are studying and positioning it as an international exchange center. A communication space is designed on the first floor, and planned a refreshment balcony in the upper laboratory. The place for exchange and recovery are incorporated into the daily research activities. The appearance seek harmony with the existing looking and based on the deep sunken window that can cover the westering sun, taking into account the use of natural energy.

豊かな緑が残る北側は前面ガラスカーテンウォールと立体的な吹抜の構成による開放的な空間とし、日射の強い南側はダブルスキンで太陽熱を空調に利用している。
南北の異なる環境を活かし、居住性と環境負荷低減を両立させる建築を目指した。
　
　
The north side features open spaces with a high atrium and a glass curtain wall facade looking out on abundant greenery, while the south side features a double skin to utilize heat from the strong sunlight for air conditioning.

周辺の穏やかな環境に親和する木造建築で、事務所と休憩室からなる。
無垢材の架構に構造用合板をサンドイッチする形式とし、大スパンが必要となる事務室部分は１m成の梁型を形成する門型フレームにより、スパン8m、天井高4ｍの空間を構成した。
フレキシブルな事務室空間と木の暖かみを感じる休憩室の空間を両立している。
　
　
The wooden architecture in which has resting room and office space according to the peaceful surrounding environment.
The form of structure is put the frame with using solid wood between the structural plywood.
The portal frame of the 1m beam configured the 8m of span, 4m of ceiling height for office which required a large span.

スクエアな敷地に馴染むよう住棟をコの字型に配置し、外周に対しては住宅の開⼝部やバルコニーを解放的に設え、構造部材のサイズや形状を吟味することで⼒強さと繊細さを表現するファサードとした。建物に囲まれた中庭空間は住宅への単純なアクセスだけではなく、回廊や集会室、⽔盤を絡めたランドスケープを施すことで、⾃然環境を楽しみながら移動し、時には⼈々のコミュニティ形成の場となるような空間デザインとしている。
　
　
In order to blend the square-shaped site, the house is configured in a U-shape, which the opening portion of the house and the balcony are open at the periphery, and the appearance of strength and slimness are expressed through careful review of the size and shape of the structural member. The courtyard space surrounded by the building is not only a gateway to housing, but also a landscape design connected with corridors, meeting rooms and water features. An apartment building on a long, narrow site adjacent to Numabe Station of the Tokyu Tamagawa Line, and a small plaza in front of the station.
A room layout with stairs was adopted.
The four segmented dwelling buildings are linked in a way that recalls a train with four cars.
The project proposes urban dwelling spaces that are open and independent.

A low-rise condominium in the Yamate district of Yokohama, which formerly flourished as an enclave for trade with foreign merchants.
An existing tree was preserved as a symbol of the building, and now it shades the entrance.
Harmony with the surrounding environment is obtained through the use of materials such as lattice, glass, and parallel columns that admit light and air.

神社境内に建つ6人の神職のための寮。
計画においては、境内に属する居住空間の成立が求められた。
内外の視線の制御、開口配置の工夫により、外部に対するプライベート性を持たせながらも明るく開放的な空間を確保している。
　
A dormitory for six priests in the precincts of a shrine.
To enable a living space that belongs to the precincts, internal and external lines of sight were controlled and care was taken in the positioning of openings.
The result is a light, open space that retains privacy vs. the outside.

小田急の商業施設“コルティ”の成城に次ぐ二作目。
「経堂駅」前にあったスーパーマーケットの建替えとして計画された。
成城と同様に自然・街・駅・商業の融合した心地よい都市建築を求め、ここでは避難階段を積極的に空間化している。
　
　
The second building in the CORTY group of commercial facilities for the Odakyu railway line, following on the facility for Seijogakuen-mae Station.
It was planned as a replacement for the supermarket that formerly occupied in front of the Kyodo Station.
Like the Seijo facility, it proposes an attractive blend of nature, town, station, and retail.
The emergency stairs are approached as an element that adds spatial value.
　
　
这是继小田急的商业设施“CORTY”的成城之后的第二部作品。
作为“经堂站”前的超市重建计划。和成城一样，追求自然、街道、车站、商业融为一体的舒适都市建筑，这里的避难楼梯也被积极地空间化了。

既存の中学校・高校の敷地の一部に新校舎を計画。
教室棟と体育館をV字に配置し、囲われた中庭がグラウンドに連続する構成。
また、外構は、既存校舎周りも含めた３つの庭を、連続するストライプの舗装パターンで再構成し、学校全体としての一体感を生んでいる。

Classrooms and a gymnasium were arranged in a V configuration, creating a courtyard between them that continues onto the main school ground.
Courtyards, including three around existing buildings, were reconfigured with a striped paving pattern to create a continuous, unified feeling throughout the school.

While complying with sunlight and slope regulations, the proposal for a “three-dimensional urban campus” utilizes the required setbacks as common space.
The exterior cladding of aluminum louvers with twist processing reduces the thermal environmental load and controls the line of sight to adjacent properties.

The hall was originally constructed in 1928 as the main hall of Naniwa Senior High School, the predecessor of Osaka University.
In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the university, this symbolic building was preserved and restored.
While recreating the original design of the lecture hall, the ceiling was renewed to add top lighting for a bright and functional space.

Comprehensive renewal of the Odakyu area from the west exit to the south exit of Shinjyuku Station in Tokyo.
User circulation was reviewed to relocate cafes and other amenities.
As an image motif to characterize the area, the renovation adopted glass covered pillars clad in a soft material reminiscent of the resort area of Hakone.

限られた敷地内で、囲み型平面でコンパクトにまとめ、新校舎を配置した。教室だけにとどまらず、屋上緑化や木製デッキで仕上げた各所のテラスを、新たな教育活動の場として計画している。
読書活動が盛んなこの学校で、児童が毎日通る昇降口脇に、吹抜けのある開放的な「まんなか図書館」を設け、児童にとって「本」をより身近なものにする工夫をした。
　
　
On a limited place, the new school buildings are efficiently arranged on a flat surface, not only classrooms but also green roofs and wood decks as places for educational activities.
In this flourishing of reading activity school, there is an expansive “hollow library” of an open ceiling apace next to the hatch where students pass each day, which can let children become more familiar with “books”.

An apartment building intended for foreign residents of Japan, located in a quiet residential district in central Tokyo.
While sharing global values and envisaging the residential style of foreign residents, the building incorporates the spatial features and design philosophy of Japan.
This was the first Japanese housing project to obtain American LEED certification.
　
　
结合丰富的绿色所设计的都心公寓住宅楼,其设定居住对象为外国人。在拥有国际性时尚感的同时，也融入了日本式空间要素和设计方式。通过有效配置大开口、通风广场、半室外空间等，创造出了与绿色以及阳光有效结合的开放空间构成。再使这些要素形成内外立体空间关系，实现了居住者及周边地域寄予一种具有持续性的生活空间。这是第一个获得美国LEED认证的日本住宅项目。

It proposes a lifestyle surrounded by greenery, even in the city, thanks to the borrowed landscape from the neighboring site.
Vertical continuity is secured through a void that connects the gallery, living room, and bedrooms on the various floors.

For an extraordinary location facing the sea, the design proposes gentle differences in height and continuity between interior and exterior, with a large roof that extends to cover the terrace.
This blurs the boundary between inside and outside and brings the rich external environment into the interior.

南向き住戸を中心とする扁平なタワー形状で、基礎部分に免震装置を備える。
60ｍに及ぶ南北面は適度なスケールへの分節化と変化に富むデザインを施すことで、エリアのランドマークとなっている。
　
A housing project near Utsubo Park in central Osaka.
It is a flat tower with mainly south-facing units, equipped with seismic isolation at the base.
The north and south walls stretch 60m in length but are segmented to an appropriate scale and designed with rich variations.

敷地は1940年に弊社創設者坂倉準三が事務所を開設した場所である。
当時からこの地に育つ20ｍを超す樹木5本を保存し、これを除けて３つのボリュームを雁行配置した。
陰影に富むシンプルな壁面は小幅板の型枠を使ったコンクリート打ち放し仕上げである。
　
The site is the place where Junzo Sakakura, founder of Sakakura Associates, opened his office in 1940.
Five trees over 20m in height, which have been growing in this spot since then, were preserved.
Three volumes are arranged in a chevron configuration, avoiding the trees.
The simple walls are rich in shadows.

As part of a plan to repurpose the site of a former large facility, two buildings were planned as an integral pair, allowing the creation of an environment with abundant greenery.
The exterior has a simple gate configuration.
The perforated plate between the units stresses verticality, while the white and black tones of the exterior reflect the green of the surroundings.

A welfare facility for Isuzu Motors containing an archery range, tennis courts, and clubhouse.
The walls and roof have a honeycomb structure with wood beams sandwiched between structural plywood.

It contains a bell tower, the main hall, a fire ritual hall, a monks residence, and an administrative building.
There is a large water basin outside.

西村伊作が1921年に創設し、自ら設計した文化学院校舎の建替え。
低層部をBS放送局、高層部を文化学院とした複合建築。
旧校舎の象徴であったアーチ部分のイメージを継承したエントランスとした。
旧校舎は、耐震補強を施した上で一部を保存した。
　
　
A reconstruction of Bunka Gakuin university, founded in 1921 by educator and architect Isaku Nishimura, who designed the original building.
A multi-purpose building with a broadcast satellite station in the low-rise section and the university in the high-rise section.
The design of the entrance inherits the arches that were a symbolic feature of the original building.

南側の田園地帯に住戸を開放し、北側の雑木林を環境形成に活かすため、敷地南側に既存樹木を避けて屈折して配棟した。
全長270ｍのボリュームが雑木林に浮遊する風景を作り出している。
　
　

A family dormitory with 72 units, planned in a large forest that adjoins an auto factory.
The units are open to the rural landscape on the south side, while the forest on the north side contributes to the environment.
Existing trees on the south side were preserved by a plan that bends to avoid them.
The development is 270m in length and the volume gives the impression of floating in the forested landscape.

Existing gingko trees were transferred to line the street as one signal of the intention to provide a high-quality design that creates a new environment and becomes the image leader of the area.

ガーデンサイドは、六本木交差点からの賑わいと赤坂・青山方面の落ち着きが交差する結節点として位置づけられる。
上層階のサービスアパートメントと低層階の商業施設が複合する構成で、外観は水平方向の流れを基調とする「奥行きと陰影」が感じられる構成とした。
　
Gardenside is perceived as an intersection where the vibrancy of the Roppongi Crossing meets the elegance of the Akasaka and Aoyama districts. It has a mixed configuration with serviced apartments on the upper floors and commercial facilities on the lower floors.
The keynote of the exterior is horizontal flow and the configuration gives the impression of depth and shading.

A symbolic glass dome for a retail district renewal project. Located at the center of Takamatsu City, the district has a history of 420 years. Designed to maximize the effect of the transparent glass, the dome stands at the intersection of the arcade and forms an integral part of the redeveloped intersection building.

The Nihonbashi Muromachi district has flourished as the center of Tokyo since the Edo period.
A 10-story multi-tenant office building in this district created bright and open working space with high functionality and renewability.

自然・街・駅・商業が融合した心地よい都市建築のあり方を模索した。
施設名称“CORTY＝街の中庭”はそんなコンセプトからきている。
　
　
　
As part of the multi-level junction project of the Odakyu railway line, the boarding platforms of the Seijogakuen-mae Station were moved underground.
SEIJO CORTY is a commercial facility located above the underground station.
It is an attractive blend of nature, town, station, and retail that proposes a new model for urban architecture.
The name of the facility, CORTY, is a reference to a courtyard in the city.

A business park in the Gaoxinyuan district of Chongqing, China. As an urban image for the area around the site, we proposed towers for company headquarters and multi-tenant office buildings, SOHO, hotels, and retail.
On a central platform with a 16m elevation, modeled on the mythical Peach Blossom Spring, we suggested a meeting hall and 39 independent low-rise office buildings (for sale).

An urban residence with a stacked four-floor configuration.
Privacy on the road side is secured by ceramic louvers, while admitting light and air.
But openings toward the greenery on the neighboring side are wide and glazed to bring the greenery into the interior.

A restaurant on a sloping site facing the Sagami Bay shore on the west side of the Akiya district in Yokosuka City.
Each floor is set back according to the slope, allowing the creation of interior spaces that continue smoothly onto terraces. There is a separate chapel on the same site, linked by gradual external stairs.

ウォーターフロントリゾート地区として計画された西宮市の人工島、西宮浜が阪神・淡路大震災により住居地区に変更され、その一次入居地区および最終分譲地区である。
街づくりのコンセプトである景観軸、風土軸に沿った形で全体配置を行い、また、各区画毎に共有する広場を出し合い、境界を感じさせない、震災復興住宅だからこそ明るい街づくりを行った。
　
　
The artificial island Nishinomiya-hama in Nishinomiya City was originally planned as a waterfront resort area.
But after the Great Hanshin Earthquake it was converted into a residential district. This project is the first district for occupancy and the last for condominium sales. Buildings were arranged in line with the urban development concept of view and local character axes.
All development zones share common plazas with little sense of boundaries. Precisely because it is disaster recovery housing, importance has been given to brightness and liveliness in this project.

既存の緑や大谷石擁壁をできる限り保護し、美しい陰影を生むシンプルなファサードにより、街並みを継承することを目指している。

An apartment building with 52 units, located in an elegant old residential district near Shibuya Station in Tokyo.
Existing greenery and Oya stone retaining walls were preserved as far as possible.
The simple facade which produces beautiful shadows is intended to match the atmosphere of the neighborhood.
A special feature is the pool in the inner garden.

国際大会から日常の市民利用まで柔らかく対応できる、明るくのびやかな空間を目指した。
　
　
A municipal gymnasium built as the 9-player volleyball arena for the 2004 National Sports Festival hosted by Saitama Prefecture.
The roof of the arena uses solid sugi (Japanese cedar) wood from the Chichibu district of the prefecture.
The building is flexible enough to be used for everything from international sporting events to everyday citizen athletics.

敷地内には大正時代の洋館、蔵、そして豊かな庭園が残され、それらの既存施設を含めた新旧和洋の調和が大きなデザインテーマとなっている。
　
　
Located on a historic site in central Tokyo, this is a mixed-use building with offices and a museum to show a private collection of contemporary ceramics.
The site also contains a Western-style building from the early prewar period, a storehouse, and a handsome garden. Harmony between these existing facilities – new and old, East and West – was a major theme of the design.

A hotel clad in white to stand out from the colorfulness of the adjoining outlet mall.
Public interior spaces are designed for a bright and open feeling.
Guest rooms all have ocean views, and the ocean can also be seen from the bathrooms, for a resort-like atmosphere.

An extension of the Mie Prefectural Art Museum, which opened in 1982. The extension added exhibition rooms and educational space as well as storage for the collection.

1918年に完成した大阪の近代を代表する建築の保存・再生。
既存建物を仮設杭で持ち上げ、その下に免震装置を設置することで、建物本体の耐震補強を最小限に抑え、歴史的意匠を損なうことなく耐震性能を確保した。機能上のリニューアルも、当初意匠を保存しつつ、現代のホールとして十分な機能をもつよう整備した。

Preservation and restoration of one of the most important examples of early modern architecture in Osaka, completed in 1918. The existing building was lifted up with temporary piles and seismic isolation equipment was installed underneath.
This allowed seismic reinforcement to be held to a minimum, securing seismic performance without impairing the historical design of the building. A functional renewal was also carried out, allowing the building to function as a contemporary hall while preserving its original design.

1918年建築のレンガ造学生食堂の耐震補強を含む増改築。
厨房棟を新たにRC造で建て、既存食堂ホールの地震力をこの厨房棟で支える工法を採用。
食堂棟は既存木造小屋組みと細い引っ張り鋼材で地震力を伝播することで、清々しい空間が再現されている。
　
　
Seismic reinforcement and expansion of a brick student dining hall built in 1918.
A new kitchen wing was built in reinforced concrete, using a design that increased the seismic resistance of the dining hall. The dining hall was reinforced with existing wooden roof trusses and steel tension materials to transmit seismic force, recreating the original refreshing dining space.

既存樹木を残しつつ、宿泊施設では、リニアな特徴のある形態の４つの建物を樹木を縫うように配置。
センター棟・スポーツ棟・カルチャー棟は、広場を囲む形で建物を配置し、その周囲を更に緑で囲んでいる。
　
　
A plan that approaches the youth center as part of a whole that includes the adjoining Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park, and that emphasizes green connectivity.
While preserving existing trees, it places four buildings with distinctive linear profiles among the trees.
The Central Building, Athletic Building and Arts Building surround a plaza and are themselves surrounded by greenery.

The expansion adopts a special structure designed to reinforce the existing building.

A hotel in the Rinku Town area on the banks of Osaka Bay, across from the artificial island constructed for Kansai International Airport.
The hotel is clad in white tiles to convey an image of modernity appropriate to the airport and the feeling of spotlessness and freshness expected in an airport hotel, and to contrast with the colors of the sea and sky.
The interior is decorated in white with wood furnishings for a clean and relaxed atmosphere.

An existing school for the mentally disadvantaged was partially demolished to add facilities for the physically disadvantaged, and new buildings were added for administration, mentally disadvantaged classrooms, and physically disadvantaged classrooms.
The renovation spatially reconfigured the facility as a whole and made it visually more comprehensible.

草原をイメージしたウエーブする「創造の丘」、「出会いの広場」等立体的に配置。
　
　
Located near Hamamatsu Station, this is a 4-year public university with a history of strong support from the local business community.
The design concept is an urban university that coexists with nature. Dense functions are concentrated in low-rise facilities and almost all roof space is covered with greenery.
The three-dimensional plan includes green elements such as the rooftop “Creativity Hill”, in the image of rolling grassland, and the 2nd-level “Meeting Plaza”.

テラス側の開口部には全面に電動の可動ルーバーが設けられ、太陽高度に合わせルーバーを折りたたんで庇状にして日射を制御することができる。
　
　
The sectional profile of the building is stair shaped, allowing a 6m terrace on each step, and also allowing emergency evacuation with no height difference from the ground.
Electrically powered louvers are installed on all openings to the terraces, allowing the louvers to be folded according to the position of the sun to control incident sunlight.

Francis Xavier in Japan, built according to the winning proposal in an invited competition.
While inheriting the historical profile, the proposal envisaged a new kind of sacred architecture for the present day.
The religious meaning of the colors (stained glass) is seen as a message from nature and God, with the ever changing colors speaking to us.

木造教会堂建替えの指名設計競技にて選定された。
現行ミサに適合する最大1000人規模のミサができる大聖堂、旧聖堂のステンドガラスを象徴的に残した中聖堂、日本人が祈れる空間を和のデザインに求めた小聖堂、地下聖堂、信徒会館で構成され、敷地の緑や空に開く配置計画となっている。
　
Reconstruction of a previous wooden church, according to the winning proposal in an invited competition.
Chapels include the large Main Chapel, which accommodates about 1,000 worshippers for Mass, a smaller chapel with a stained glass window from the original church, a chapel with a Japanese design for Japanese worshippers, and a Crypt below the Main Chapel.

東海道新幹線を軸とした国内経済活動の中枢を担うJR東海の本拠地JR名古屋駅に建つ超高層複合施設。
駅施設、百貨店等からなる基壇部の上に、ホテル、オフィスの二つのタワーがそびえる。
21世紀の名古屋を象徴するランドマークとなるよう計画した。
　
An ultra-high-rise mixed-use building at Nagoya Station, home base of the Japan Railway Tokai Shinkansen high-speed lines and other rail lines serving the core areas of Japan’s domestic economy.
At the base of the building are station facilities, a department store, and other services. Rising above are two towers containing a hotel and offices.
The facility is a landmark in 21st-century Nagoya.
　
​本项目是JR东海基地的名古屋站建设的超高层综合设施。以东海道新干线为核心，担负着国内经济活动的重任。
在由车站设施、百货商店等构成的底座上，耸立着酒店楼和办公楼的两座超高层塔。成为象征21世纪名古屋的地标性建筑。

国道17号線を挟んでホテルと教会が並列し、二つの建物が前橋市中心部へのゲートとなっている。
教会は花びらのような平面型で、外壁は大型レンガブロックを積上げた重厚な仕上げ。内部は白い漆喰の曲面が天空からの光を受けて柔らかく人を包み込む。
　
Facing each other across National Route 17, a hotel and a church form a gate to the city of Maebashi.
The church has a plan like the petals of a flower. The impressive exterior is built up from large brick blocks. In the interior, plaster curves envelop visitors in a gentle embrace while receiving light from the sky.

The Odakyu Hotel Century is located at the top of the ultra-high-rise Odakyu Southern Tower.

A new school located next to housing that was built to recover from the Great Hanshin earthquake.
To secure continuity with the community, the school buildings were located on the south side of the site.
There is a plaza facing the intersection, and fences and other barriers were omitted whenever possible.
The result is an open school that participates in the community.

A museum in the Setonaikai National Park, on Awaji Island next to the Onaruto suspension bridge.
The museum houses more than 1,000 replicas of Western masterpieces from antiquity through the present on ceramic boards in original size.

小田急デパート－モザイク坂－小田急新宿ミロード－新宿サザンテラス－小田急サザンタワーと連なる施設郡は1973年に提案を行った「大通り構想」に基づくものである。
最南端に位置する小田急サザンタワーは、低層部が店舗、中層部が事務所、高層部がホテルである超高層建築。
新宿サザンテラスは小田 急線の上部に構築された人工地盤上に店舗などを配し、新宿駅南口に大きな人々の流れを生んでいる。
　
　
　
The series of facilities from the Odakyu Department Store through Mosaic Street, Odakyu Shinjuku Mylord, Shinjuku Southern Terrace and Odakyu Southern Tower was planned in the 1973 “Boulevard Concept”.
Odakyu Southern Tower is located at the southern edge of this concept.
It is an ultra-high-rise building with the low-rise section housing retail, the middle section offices, and the upper section a hotel.
Shinjuku Southern Terrace is a artificial ground over the Odakyu railway lines and houses retail and other functions.
It has created a large stream of pedestrian traffic from the southern exit of Shinjuku Station.

A mixed-use public service facility for the Nagayama, one of the oldest districts in the Tama New Town suburb of Tokyo.
Located in front of Nagayama Station, it houses a library, a community center, a consumers’ center, a lounge corner, and other functions to support daily life and interchanges in the community. It also serves as a gate from the rail station.

織都として独自の歴史をもつ桐生の文化的象徴を、浮遊する繭形で表現している。
　
A performing arts center with a large, multi-purpose Silk Hall seating 1,500 and a Reception Hall seating 500.

花崗岩とガラスの外壁は、上階ほどガラスの比率を高くして空に溶け込ませ、頂部ゴンドラの黄色をアクセントとした。

An office building on Shinmido-suji Avenue. Working space is arranged to the north and south of a central corridor, and refresh spaces look out from the west side to the Rokko mountains.
The ratio of glass in the granite and glass facade grows increases for higher stories, so that building seems to blend into the sky. The yellow of the gondola at the top is an accent.

Centered on an airy atrium void reaching from the basement to the fourth floor, the building constitutes a vertical “town” of its own, with cultural and commercial facilities, a hall, offices, and restaurants.
This variety is reflected in the various colors and materials of the exterior, which features glass on the lower levels, a massive facade on the middle levels, and upper levels with many different expressions.

富沢遺跡は、旧石器時代の樹林跡を中心とする遺跡である。
特殊な保存処理をした樹林は、地中連続壁の楕円形のシリンダーにより地下水からの影響を遮断され、来館者は、静寂が支配する地下の展示室で２万年前の世界に思いをはせる。
　
　
The Tomizawa site preserves the fossilized remains of a forest from the Paleolithic Age.
The trees have received special preservative treatment and are protected against groundwater by the walls of an elliptical cylinder that extend continuously below the ground.
Visitors to the basement exhibition room can experience a quiet encounter from the world of 20,000 years ago.

An outdoor pool in a park that utilizes an existing grove of trees.
To harmonize with the natural setting, the entire facility is half buried, with one monumental feature floating above the ground to indicate the entrance.
The spiral plan calls up images of growth and proliferation, and is meant to be inviting for energetic play by children.

A two-level mall designed to match the regional characteristics of the southern island of Kyushu, according to the concept of low-cost operation.
The roof shields the space from the hot sun of summer, while appropriately designed skylights create an intimate atmosphere.

Design of the center zone of a university campus on the shores of Lake Biwa.
The zone is surrounded by a moat and has a courtyard at its center, with buildings that include a student support center, administration, a library and information center, and common lecture buildings.
The whole is reminiscent of a moated city.

斬新なイメージをもったオフィスビルをつくるという施主からの与件に応え、オフィスコアを執務空間から分離し、ガラスとメタルの組み合わせによって特色ある外観をつくり出している。
　
　
The site faces a heavily trafficked national road.
Responding to the client’s request for an office building that would make an impression of daring innovation, the office core was separated from working spaces to create a distinctive exterior silhouette that combines glass and metal.

丘陵地の谷状の地形を活かし、自然との共生をテーマに設計。
谷沿いにV字型の廊下を設け、その外側に独立した教室棟が配置される構成とし、雑木林をイメージした中庭の緑、独立棟間の緑が大きく育つにつれて、緑あふれるキャンパスとなるよう意図した。
　
　
Taking advantage of the valley site in a hilly district, the design addresses the theme of coexistence with nature.
A V-shaped corridor follows the slope of the valley, alongside of which independent classroom buildings are arranged.
It is intended to become a campus rich in greenery as the greenery matures in the spaces between the buildings and in the courtyard, which is patterned after a grove of trees.

美術館の４フロアをつなぐ吹抜けと、その中の軽快な階段をデザイン上のアクセントとした。

The museum preserves the former Kawasaki Bank Sakura Branch building (completed in 1918) as its entrance hall, with a new building behind it.
The art museum has a central void connecting its four floors, accented by a light and airy stairway.
The former bank building is a designated cultural property of Chiba Prefecture (1991).

MOGは筑波研究学園都市中心部の立体駐車場とペデストリアンデッキ間の12mx100mという細長い敷地に計画された商業施設である。
壁面の細分化によりヒューマンな街路空間を目指すとともに、都市的なスケール感を大屋根で表現している。
　

MOG is a shopping mall on a long, narrow site (12m x 100m) between a parking garage and a pedestrian deck at the center of Tsukuba Science City.
Human-scale street space was provided by dividing the walls, while the large roof express the scale of the city.

The basic concept for this project was the dissemination of a cultural and historic message.

大阪・道修町で最初の洋館社屋だった旧本社ビルの建替え。
ルネッサンス様式の旧社屋のイメージを各所に残しながら、全体をシンプルかつモダンにまとめた。
建物を道路から後退させて設けた広場と２層のピロティ、エントランスホールを一体化させ、奥行きと広がりを創り出している。
　
　
A reconstruction of a corporate headquarters, which was the first Western style building in the Dojomachi district of Osaka.
While making numerous references to the Renaissance style of the former headquarters, the overall design is simple and modern.
